Fumed Indians continue to troll NYT over 2-year-old cartoon mocking their space agency

Some people just can’t let it go — and the New York Times is learning this the hard way.

Two years ago, when India’s space agency ISRO put the Mangalyaan robotic probe into orbit around Mars — and did so at one of the lowest budgets to date — the New York Times published an opinion piece on the development with an arguably distasteful cartoon

The cartoon, which showed a farmer with a cow knocking at the door of a room marked Elite Space Club, drew immediate complaints from Indians as well as people from elsewhere.  Read more…

Always cold? Here’s how to make it replace your personality

When it’s freezing outside and your toes are steadily going numb, it can be hard to concentrate on anything but how cold you are.

So don’t!

Instead, make being cold the only thing that identifies you by eradicating all the other facets of your personality. It will make expressing yourself much easier — which is good, because you have to save energy to retain heat.

Here’s where to start.

When you enter a room, wiggle around and say, “brr!”

Before anyone knows your first name, last name or reason for being in the room, they should know you are feeling a little cold. Read more…

Show everyone that your fingers are kind of blue.

‘Kylie’ may not be available but you still have options!

Kylie Jenner, cosmetic connoisseur and dog mom, recently lost a trademark battle for her first name against Kylie Minogue, the Australian singer. The Kylies had been fighting over the trademark ‘Kylie’ in the U.S. but, in the end, Minogue won and blocked Jenner from owning the name.

But, the situation does have a bit of a silver lining; Jenner has a new hobby. She can now shop around and find other things to trademark and get some badly-needed lessons on the legal system in the process.  Read more…

Widower who wanted a fishing mate had a great time with his new BFF

See folks, the internet can sometimes be a lovely place.

Take the story of South Australian man Ray Johnstone, who two weeks ago posted an ad searching for a fishing buddy on a classifieds website.

“I’m a widowed pensioner who is looking for a fishing mate,” he wrote. “My previous fishing mate is now deceased. I am a land based fisherman. I have all the gear for all types of fish that is required for land based fishing.”

The ad resulted in plenty of melted hearts, with the widower scoring himself a heap of free fishing equipment and an even bigger legion of mates who wanted to fish with him. Read more…

14-year-old girl’s sick skydiving spins will actually blow you away

Most of us are unable to do a split or even a cartwheel on the ground — so imagine doing them in mid-air.

For 14-year-old Kyra Poh, though, it’s not much of a stretch — she’s just bagged two gold medals at the 2017 Wind Games in Spain.

Here’s the Singaporean indoor skydiver just casually flipping and turning like it’s no big deal:

Kyra beat out 10 other competitors to win gold in the solo freestyle category.

She choreographed her routine herself, with the help of her mum.

“My routine style is kind of feminine, so I do lots of flips and spins, but I also like to mix it together with a long of strong and technical moves,” the 14-year-old told Mashable. Read more…

Though it was no Lady Gaga at Super Bowl 2016, Luke Bryan’s 2017 national anthem performance was a perfectly sufficient follow-up. Solid work, Luke.

Bryan performed his rendition at Super Bowl 51, held this year at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Atlanta Falcons will face off against the New England Patriots during Sunday night’s game.
